My Typical Day
I check with my students about current projects we are running and usually spend some time reading up on the latest research.
What I'd do with the money
We could put an interactive heart pump display into the National Museum of Scotland.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
approachable, thorough, creative
Would you rather be a scientist or an athlete? And why?
A scientist, they have a much longer careers and are less prone to injuries
If you could have a body super power, what would it be and why?
mind reading, very good power to have if you’re playing squash!
Which Olympic event would you most like to win? And why?
1500m, it is the blue riband event on the track and I used to run middle distance when I was a student
What did you want to be after you left school?
I couldn’t really decide between dentistry and an engineer, as it is I have ended up doing neither
Were you ever in trouble in at school?
Yes, but that was a long time ago
What's the best thing you've done as a scientist?
I have had the opportunity to travel to several countries, the last place was Iceland in January.
